Welcome to the 2009-2010 Season

I would like to welcome everyone to this season.

I apologize for the late start but since we don’t have our first tournament until January I thought I would hold off to make sure that some of the paperwork didn’t get lost in the shuffle.

There have been some questions about the Team Tournament and what to do with the money and the paperwork. This year all centers will be sending their paperwork and $80.00 per team to the Illinois State BPA office.

I understand the State Youth Committee has held a meeting regarding the restructuring of the Team Tournament this season. This was done in hopes of getting more participation; however they realize that this has not been beneficial from the proprietor’s aspect. The format will be reviewed again and most likely changed for next season. Thanks for your understanding during this process.

Remember to go to www.bowlfoxvalley.com to check on all of the upcoming tournament dates, times and standings.

Just a few reminders for the season that need to be strictly followed:

1. Your entry sheet, along with your average verification sheets, need to be turned in to me on the date requested. I will be sending reminders before each tournament as of the date required.

2. Call the hosting center with your reservations. Include which division and category for each reservation.

3. One (1) check, should be included with your paper work, made out to the hosting bowling center. The bowling fees this year will be $8.50.

Team Tournament

This is just a reminder that our affiliate Team Handicap Tournament will be held soon. It will be held on February 20th and 21st at Four Seasons Sports in Sycamore. The squad times are the following:

Saturday 2/20 at 3:00 p.m.
Sunday 2/21 at 10:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.

Please remember to call in your reservations to Four Seasons Sports at 815-895-5125 as soon as possible. When calling in please indicate which division each team will be competing in along with the team name. That will help us keep each level of bowler bowling together.

DO NOT forget to send the following info:

With the new change I would like to get your average verification forms (the state will be sending them to you) by no later than, Wednesday, February 17, 2010, please don’t bring them the day of the tournament, you can fax them to me to make it easier. Please remember to use the highest average from either the youth league, high school or the travel league as of February 14, 2010. I will need to have a final average sheet from each High School Coach. This needs to be a composite average of both meets and tournament scores. It would be in your best interest to keep a copy of this final average as it is going to be required for future tournaments as well.

You also need to include ONE CHECK, made payable to Four Seasons Sports, for all of your advancing teams. The cost is $42.50 per team.

Doubles Tournament

This is just a reminder that our FVBPA Doubles Tournament is being held on January 30 & 31st at Lisle Lanes in Lisle. Squad times are Saturday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. Please, remember to call them with your reservations at 630-968-1300. All of the paper work should be sent to me by January 26, 2010. Also, don’t forget to enclose one check to cover the fees, $24.00 per entry ($12.00 per bowler) for the tournament. The check should be made payable to Lisle Lanes. You can find copies of the entry form here (Word .doc) and here (PDF).

Community Twosome

This is just a reminder that our affiliate Community Twosome round is about to arrive. It will be held on February 6th and 7th at St. Paul Lanes in Aurora. The squad times are as follows:

February 6th at 3:00 p.m.

February 7th at 12:00 noon or 3:00 p.m.

Please remember to call in your reservations to St. Paul Lanes at 630-851-1000 as soon as possible. When calling in please indicate which division each pair will be competing in. This will help us keep each level of youth bowler participating bowling together.

The average verification date is as of and including January 3, 2010 DO NOT forget to send your entry information to me by no later than January 17, 2010. Be sure to have all average info complete for both youth and adult, and all the signatures that are required. If you could also include your day and time slot in the upper right hand corner of your affiliate round forms, it would be helpful. Also, please remember to send one check payable to St. Paul Lanes for $17.00 per team.
